Warranty terms

  1. This is a major mechanical parts and labour warranty of the vehicle overleaf, this warranty does not affect your statutory rights.
  2. Your warranty and/or sales invoice details the length of the warranty given by us for the vehicle you purchased (that is the number of months and/or mileage allowance – whichever comes first).
  3. Your vehicle has a warranty which covers major mechanical failure only, not general wear and tear and serviceable items (see point 7).
  4. You must immediately inform Mobility Disabled of any fault with your vehicle that you wish to claim on the warranty for prior to having any work carried out; we will nominate a garage for these repairs or investigations to take place. We will not pay for work that we have not authorised to carry out.
  5. We will pay for diagnostics if it is found that there is a fault with the vehicle, if there is no fault found or is deemed driver error we will not pay or reimburse you for diagnostic costings.
  6. We may request photographic evidence of mileage and warning lights (if applicable) and/or to arrange for an independent engineers report at any time when making a claim with us, if we believe this necessary. The vehicle must be made available to us or our nominated person to verify the fault that you are claiming for.
  7. If we advise that the vehicle needs to be returned to us, it is your responsibility to return the vehicle (we do not offer a recovery service) and/or to pay for subsequent costs to do this and we strongly advise you take out breakdown cover.
  8. As stated this warranty covers major mechanical failure only and not the general wear and tear of the vehicle i.e., tyres, cambelt, water pump, oil, fuel & water filters, brakes (disc or pad), bulbs, exhaust, battery and other serviceable, consumable or ancillary items.
  9. The clutch and associated parts is not covered where failure is due to the clutch having reached the end of its normal working life due to age, mileage, misuse or is ‘burnt out’ due to driving ability.
  10. DPF failure, failed regeneration of the particulate filter or any failure due to carbon build-up will not be covered under this warranty.
  11. This warranty does not cover any subsequent conversion, modification or adaption that you the buyer may add to the vehicle at a later date.
  12. You are responsible for the general maintenance of the vehicle and service and replacement of any such parts needed as per manufacturer’s service intervals (we may request evidence that servicing has taken place, failure to provide this may invalidate your warranty with us).
  13. You are responsible for the replacement of the cambelt and water pump should the vehicle require one as part of a major mechanical service (as per manufacturers recommended service intervals) unless we have provided you with evidence that this has been done.
  14. We deal with any faults at the premises of Mobility Disabled unless we agree otherwise; the warranty is null and void if you take the vehicle to another mechanic or garage for repairs that you are claiming for without prior authorisation from us.
  15. We do not cover any parts which have reached the end of their working lives due to age or mileage or misuse.
  16. If the nominated garage that we have agreed can investigate the fault subsequently decide they cannot or are unable to repair, you will need to make arrangements to recover the vehicle to us at your own cost.
  17. We are not responsible for broken or lost keys, lost radio codes or entertainment equipment failure (includes but not limited to radio, CD, DVD, USB, Satellite Navigation Equipment).
  18. The vehicle is for personal use only and not for hire or gain or reward (in this instance the warranty will become void).
  19. Corrosion of the bodywork is not covered and that includes the original wheelchair conversion work.
  20. We will not provide warranty cover for a vehicle that has been driven against our advice, if it has been driven with warning lights on or with broken components.
  21. We do not cover re-gassing of air conditioning systems unless due to failure of the air conditioning system itself.
  22. We do not cover misfuelling or any contaminated components in relation to this such (but not limited to) fuel lines, filters, injectors, fuel pump, fuel tank.
  23. We do not cover factory fitted or after-market reversing sensors that are fitted to the vehicle.
  24. Any items, mobility items or the vehicle itself which have been or are subject to wear and tear, misuse, neglect, accidental damage, weather damage or flood damage is not covered by our warranty.
  25. We do not cover damage to windscreens, panoramic roofs, vehicle trim or paintwork or any bodywork (interior or exterior), your signature overleaf confirms you accepted the vehicles condition (interior and exterior) as it was delivered or collected by you.
  26. You will be issued a receipt detailing any repairs that have been made to your vehicle for your service information record.
  27. We do not supply or hire any vehicles or WAV’s whilst your vehicle is in for warranty repairs. Whilst your claim is being dealt with, you will be kept informed of the vehicles status and estimated time for completion of work. During this time you will need to make alternative transport arrangements, but, if the actual repair (once diagnosed) is likely to take longer than 8 hours we will reimburse you £50 per day for a maximum of 7 days whilst the garage completes the work provided you forward a receipt or invoice from a reputable hire company for reimbursement (please note it is for you to organise this yourself).
  28. All warranty repairs undertaken by Mobility Disabled or its authorised garage or repairer will be dealt with as quickly as possible, and shall not be held accountable should there be any delay in obtaining parts.
  29. This warranty is non-transferable if you should sell the vehicle to another person before the warranty period expires. As this is a free warranty, our obligation is with you the purchaser.
  30. Consequential loss or damage shall not be covered where it is reasonable for us to conclude that such loss or damage arose as a result of your failure to take reasonable preventative measures or to notify us promptly following the initial failure of a component (including, without limitation, the continued operation of the vehicle with a known defective part). We shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from: (a) parts excluded under this policy; (b) parts that have been incorrectly fitted; or (c) inadequate or insufficient servicing.
  31. The AdBlue system (including the SCR system, tank, pump, injector, sensors, control units, and related parts) is covered by this warranty only if it suffers a sudden and unexpected mechanical or electrical failure, and subject to the terms of the policy. This warranty does not cover 1. Problems caused by contaminated, crystallised, incorrect, poor-quality, or non-approved AdBlue fluid; 2. Issues resulting from normal wear and tear, running out of AdBlue, or not maintaining the correct AdBlue level as specified by the manufacturer; 3. Damage caused by continuing to drive the vehicle after warning lights appear or manufacturer alerts are ignored; 4. Software updates, recalibration, or diagnostic work unless it is directly related to a valid covered fault; 5. Failures caused by external factors, misuse, neglect, or lack of proper servicing
  32. Vehicles supplied with or originally fitted with additional equipment that require power from the vehicle such as but not limited to electric belts, winches, inverters, electric seats, night heaters, electric tailgates, electric ramps, lowering suspension, wheelchair clamps or docking stations and other such equipment. The vehicle itself will need constant use to keep the vehicle battery life in order, failure to use the vehicle regularly may result in battery failure and therefore the inability to use this equipment. We are not responsible for lack of use and subsequent inability to use the installed equipment and/or vehicle and so it is not covered under this warranty.
